Malcom Lester papers
Content Description
This collection includes University of Virginia memorabilia from alumni Malcom Lester, who was a historian at Davidson College where he was a Chair of the History Department and Director of the Davidson College program at Cambridge University.
The collection contains Lester's certificate of membership in Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Virginia, dated June 12, 1954; a scroll dedicated to the University of Virginia and its faculty, one of twelve institutions selected nationwide to implement the one year Basic Premeteorology curriculum as specified by the United States Army Air Force and administered by the University of Chicago, by the 156 men who successfully completed the program at the University, undated; Lester's diploma from his study in the Master of Arts in History program at the University of Virginia, dated September 24, 1946; Lester's diploma from his study in the Doctor of Philosophy in History program at the University of Virginia, dated June 14, 1954.
