Scope and Contents
Lydia Heney friendship album, 1837-1839, consists of 0.03 cubic feet, a simple album with marbled paper cover with gilt-stamped green leather corners and spine, no title page, pink endpapers and white pages. This friendship album contains many sentiments and verses directed to Lydia Heney, including many different handwriting examples from both male and female friends and acquaintances. Locations of signers include Pennsylvania towns, Brandywine, Pittsburgh, Pocopson, Pemsbury, Pemsville, and Birmingham.
