This small collection contains items relative to the Pegasus air and ground medical transport service of the University of Virginia Medical Center. Pegasus flight operations materials include survival training course documents for "post-hard-landing" situations. Biographical / Historical

The Pegasus helicopter and ground-based medical transport services were initiated at the University of Virginia Medical Center in 1984. Audrey Snyder, R.N., Ph.D. served as Chief Flight Nurse from 1991-95 and as clinician and research committee chair for Pegasus Flight Operations in 1995-96. She developed the Pegasus Flight Observer Program in 1991 to provide first-hand flight medical experience for healthcare and public safety professionals and... students. Snyder earned her Bachelors of Science, Masters, and Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Virginia School of Nursing. At the time of writing, she is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing, College of Health and Human Sciences, at the University of Northern Colorado.
