Sarah E. Jackson letters
Sarah E. Jackson letters, MSS 16211, dated 1877, 1895, 0.03 cubic feet, from her son and his cousin who were students at the University of Virginia. They mention "the Lawn", Monticello, the Medical School, and the "Chemical laboratory which is just about completed." There is also a letter from a cousin of General Stonewall Jackson, P. Lafford, and a University of Virginia class photograph taken in front of what is now Alderman Library. (1877)

Papers concern her entire career, especially her military work on health planing and nursing administration as applied to the development of computerized data collection, management programs, and system design.
Janice Elizabeth Howard Papers
(B. 1938) Biographical material tracing her varied career in nursing through the 1990s, in Boston and the New York areas, concluding as a faculty member at the Genesee Community College in Batavia, New York, and the Batavia VA Hospital. In retirement she became involved in lobbying and legislative initiatives for the New York State Nurses Association. The collection includes photographs and publications by Howard.

Jefferson Randolph Kean Gorgas Medal collection
The collection includes the Gorgas Medal given to Jefferson Randolph Kean on December 15, 1942. According to an accompanying pamphlet titled The War Doctor, the medal was given "for exceptionally meritorious services to preventive medicine for our armed forces." Also in the collection is the invitation to attend the luncheon for the presentation of the medal.
