George family papers
The collection (1816-1963; 1 document box) contains receipts and miscellaneous papers of several businesses owned by the George family in Charlottesville, Virginia. The papers also contain correspondence between family members and friends, including James Alexander, publisher of the Jeffersonian Republican. There are also family photographs taken by Charlottesville photographers, and several photographs of buildings and streets in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Alexander Gilliam diaries
This collection of Alexander Gordon Gilliam diaries contains three journals, two folders, and 0.25 cubic feet chronicling personal accounts of his work and travels in the United States Commission of Typhus, including medical reports of conditions observed, and treatment of patients. There is also a biographical sketch by his son Alexander G. Gilliam, Jr. titled "The war diary (1943) of Alexander G. Gilliam, M. D."

Naval Commander Louis Goldsborough letter
Naval Commander Louis Goldsborough letter to Lieutenant Commander Alexander Murray of the USS Sebago on June 5, 1862, 0.03 cubic feet, is an autograph letter signed by Goldsborough, as the Commander of the North Atlantic Blockading Squadron and on U. S. Flagship "Minnesota" letterhead about munitions and supplies. Also included is a handwritten note from Alexander Murray on the verso.
