Biographical / Historical
Henry Wise Garnett was born on March 31, 1849. His father was Alexander [Yelverton] Peyton Garnett, (President of the American Medical Association and served Jefferson Davis in the Civil War. Alexander Garnett was born in Essex, Virginia at "Prospect Hill,") and married Elizabeth Wise on January 13, 1848. Henry Wise Garnett's grandfather was Brigadier General H. A. Wise from Richmond, Virginia. Henry Garnett became a lawyer and died July 10, 1897.
