Scope and Contents
John McAllister Jr., letter to his mother, 0.03 cubic feet, 1837. McAllister, a Philadelphia manufacturer, wrote to his mother about his wife Eliza's trip to White Sulpher [sic] Springs and other Virginia resorts. With his wife traveling in the South, McAllister adds his own observations on a North/South split just then occurring among Presbyterians meeting in Philadelphia.
