This addition to MSS 10191, John W. Warner. The interviews were conducted between 2014 and 2017, and the subject matter ranges from Warner's service as a seventeen-year-old sailor in World War II to his Congressional career. This includes his role in the Nixon campaigns of 1960 and 1968, Warner's campaign for the U.S. Senate in 1978, and his four successful bids for re-election. He remarks on his colleagues in the Senate, his collaborative work with Presidents from Nixon to Clinton, and bonds formed on the Armed Services Committee. He also recounts specific events and issues related to Virginia, as well as significant national events of September 11, 2001, and their aftermath. Interspersed are stories related to his personal life and family.
