Warren Chappell papers--addition 4
Content Description
This addition to MSS MSS 10204, Warren Chappell papers, contains a letter from Chappell to John Haskell, Jr. Haskell was the Associate Dean, and Director of Manuscripts and Rare Books at William and Mary. Warren Chappell spoke at Swem Library at William and Mary on April 6, 1985. The next day Chappell sent Haskell an illustrated letter. The image is of a colonial-era soldier holding a rifle drawn. In the letter, Chappell notes his regret that Lydia, his partner, didn't join him so that he could have talked to Haskell's wife about their mutual eye history. He was pleased to meet Clifford Currie, the head of the W& M Library, and "cousin Miles" Chappell, a Professor of Art at the school. He mentioned an upcoming exhibition entitled "Fugitives".
