 Unprocessed Material — Multiple Containers
Identifier: ViU-2024-0023

Content Description

This addition to RG-12 contains files pertaining to the University of Virginia Library system from 1987 to 2007. Included are budgets, invoices for equipment purchases for Alderman Library, correspondence, conference materials, meeting rosters, brochures, and fliers advertising events involving the library, as well as a commemoration ceremony briefing book for donors Albert and Shirley Small upon the public dedication of the Small Special Collections Library in 2004. The materials primarily document VIRGO, the Scholarly Communication Institute (SCI), and Early American Fiction (EAF). VIRGO is a public search & display interface. SCI, which began in 2003, was created to encourage leadership and integrate new technologies into scholarship and Early American Fiction (EAF), an Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant awarded to the University of Virginia in 1996 to digitize several hundred volumes of early American fiction dating from 1789-1850.
