Sunrise UVA study-in materials
Content Description
These collection materials form the RG-23/143, Student Organizations/ Sunrise UVA. The collection contains a zine, posters, and fliers from the Sunrise UVA (formerly Divest UVA) teach-in. Sunrise UVA is a chapter of the Sunrise Movement, an organization focused on large-scale change towards climate solutions and environmental justice. On Friday, May 2, 2025, from 11 am to 3 pm, the group hosted a study-in at the fourth floor entrance of Shannon Library to demand that UVA protect students from fascism. During the event, they studied with signs and art to test free speech at the university. This was coordinated with the Climate Change network.
