This addition to MSS 10768, the Stanislaw J.Jr and Alice Lee Patton Makielski papers, contains correspondence, photographs, reports, drawings, watercolor paintings, clippings, budgets, and publications of Stanislaw J. Makielski, Jr. and his wife, Alice Lee Patton Makielski. Stanislaw J. Makielski, Jr. was an architect and professor at the University of Virginia. The collection contains drawings and photographs of Makielski's work, including a home at 1910 Barracks Road and a project titled "Scarlett's Cottage," correspondence, and clippings, a family tree of Makielski and several framed watercolor paintings by Makielski feature scenes of nature and Charlottesville urban life. Also included are correspondence and three poems between Alice Lee and Allen Tate, an American poet, essayist, and literary critic, from the 1920s and the 1930s.
