Content Description

This collection contains black-and-white negatives, color slides, photographic prints, event programs, and other printed materials taken by Roy Alson, who graduated from the University of Virginia's College of Arts and Sciences in 1974. At UVA, he was a photographer for The Cavalier Daily and a photo editor for Corks and Curls. Alson was a photographer for the Cavalier Daily and edited photos for Corks and Curl. Photographs, slides, and negatives document student life from 1970-1974, including the first cohorts of women at UVA. Most negatives and some photographs have notations of the event or person depicted. Also included are event programs for the 1973 and 1975 Restoration Ball, the 1974 final exercises program, a first-year directory for the class of 1974, 1975 Founders Day Exercises, the interfraternity council booklet (1973), and the 1972 April Fool's Day edition of Cavalier Daily.
