Content Description

This addition to RG 2/1, Office of the President/Reports, contains two Free Speech annual reports for 2022 and 2023 per the § 23.1-401.1(D) Code of Virginia. These reports document the University of Virginia's efforts to maintain the constitutional principles of free expression and the open exchange of ideas. The annual reports include a letter to the Governor summarizing the university's efforts and exhibits of the student information system enrollment module for new and returning students, the University Judiciary Committee training, and education. The 2023 annual report notes that since December 1, 2022, the University of Virginia has been named as a defendant in two lawsuits that allege violations of the First Amendment, which are attached to the report.
