This addition to RG 12/11/17 Lowell Weicker Project contains correspondence, notes, photographs, biographical information, inventory lists, event programs and flyers, project management outlines, funding requests and records, and interview transcripts related to the Papers of Lowell P. Weicker, Jr. collection and the research efforts of the Lowell Weicker Oral History Project at the University of Virginia Libraries. The interviews for the Oral History Project were conducted by Phyllis Leffler, Professor Emerita of the Department of History at the University of Virginia, assisted by a team of undergraduate and graduate interns, on behalf of the University library to enrich the Weicker Papers archive through historical accounts and records of motivations, experiences, and perspectives on Weicker's service in the United States Senate and as Governor of Connecticut, along with significant milestones throughout American politics in the last quarter of the 20th century including the Watergate hearings and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Also in the collection are two DVDs: "Americans with Disabilities Act Coalition of Connecticut ADA 20th Anniversary Commemoration" and "The 20th Anniversary of the ADA: Human Rights in Progress."

This collection is open for research. Box 1 contains one folder of restricted materials that contain personally identifiable information (PPII). This file requires an Archivist review prior to patron access. In addition, the collection contains two DVDs. Original digital media (floppy disks, zip disks, thumb drives, born digital files, etc.) and other media formats such as LPs, audiotapes, reel-to-reels, videotapes, films, CDs, and DVDs cannot be handled directly by patrons.
