Living wage campaign

 Unprocessed Material — Folder: 1
Identifier: ViU-2020-0124

Content Description

This collection consists of a mini zine and papers with chants on them related to the Living wage campaign at the University of Virginia. The zine addresses its next steps as an organization after President Ryan's announcement that beginning in January 2020 UVA would be paying direct employees a living wage. The Living Wage Campaign at UVA was founded in 1997 and born out of the desire to achieve a living wage for our university employees and to provide a united student and faculty voice to support members of the university community. Members of the Living Wage Campaign advocated for workers' rights on grounds, drawing attention to issues of inequality, poverty and the fact that worker’s rights are civil rights.
