Content Description

This collection contains examples of nineteenth century hairwork created in school girl art, albums, folk art, and friendship tokens. Primarily this collection contains multiple albums that represent friendship, school girl rememberances, tokens of love, and family records. Hair is arrayed in plaits and locks and adornded with ribbons, foil, watercolor, and scraps. Most are identified; some include dates and location. Also included are framed hair art and boxes of hair.
