Finance Office/Risk Management_ addition 1
Content Description
This addition to RG-40/1 (Finance/Risk Management) features a “Fire Insurance Survey” for the “Properties of the University of Virginia.” The original binder stipulates that the survey was “Submitted by the Charlottesville Insurance Exchange.” The survey is dated July 1951 and includes building descriptions, approximate values, photographs, plot plans, condition notes, insurance rates, and recommendations to preempt fire threats. The location of fire alarms and extinguishers are highlighted in a list by building location. Building descriptions include a photograph, floorplan dimensions, occupancy, electrical/heating system classification, and commonly feature handwritten monetary values in the event of a loss due to fire. A series of fold-out maps with an accompanying legend documents the location of University-owned buildings.
