This addition to MSS 10396, Ervin L. Jordan papers, contains ten mini-cards (3.5" X5.5") from the "200 Years, 200 Stories" Library of Virginia exhibit. The cards highlight stories of Virginians and touch on African American history, immigrants in Virginia, women's history, sports, food, and other cultural aspects. Cards include Ethel Bailey Furman, architect/community Leader; Wendell Scott, NASCAR driver; Lady Luck, the face of the Virginia Lottery; Maybelle Carter, musician; Barbara Johns, strike and Civil Rights leader; Mary Randolph, author, cook, and housekeeper; Undine Anna Smith Moore, composer/Pulitzer Prize nominee; Ow Chuck Sam, Veteran/ Immigrant/Citizen; John Brown, Southhampton County Convention member, carpenter and farmer; and Edna Lewis, chef and author. Jordan obtained these cards at a private event held at the library for members of the General Assembly hosted by the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation Board of Trustees, of which Jordan is a member.
