Content Description

This collection features two archival inkjet prints of 1986 photograph negatives of Pat Oliphant, an Australian-born American caricature artist, and cartoonist, alongside Tom Oliphant, an American journalist who was a correspondent and a columnist for The Boston Globe. The photograph, captured by Ben Boblett, M.D, was for an article about how frequently the two were confused for each other because they share the same last name and were prominent members of the national press corps. The photographs depict Pat and Tom side by side in an office. In one, Pat holds a sketchbook page stating "Not Tom Oliphant" and another has Pat holding a caricature drawing of Tom.
