This addition to the University Library/ Associates of the University of Virginia Library ( RG 12/15) contains records, correspondence, and documentation related to the functions and activities of the Associates of the University of Virginia Library, a non-profit organization with the purpose to support and promote the University Libraries. The items include papers and materials on organization operations, board of directors membership and meeting minutes, collection acquisition and management, fundraising campaigns and solicitations, collection notes, gifts and grants, financial statements and fund reports, event information, publications and newsletters, library offerings, and staff development. The themes of the box contents are as follows: Box 1 (ca. 1970s-1990s) - organization governing documents, board minutes, awards, dinner celebrations, University publications and events, publicity, and gifts. Box 2 (ca. 1980s-1990s) - Alderman Library, Special Collection Library, gift books, research and grant awards, appraisals, staff development fund, and Asian Studies and the Tibetan Collection. Box 3 (ca. 1980s-1990s) - gift books, appraisals, stewardship projects, staff development funds, organization annual dinner information, Clemons Library funding, Josiah Q. Bennett, and C. Waller Barrett. Box 4 (ca. 1980s-1990s) - board meeting minutes, budgets, endowment and funds, invitations to memberships, president's letters to associates, gifts, events, library developments, funding and disbursement requests. Box 5 (ca. 1980s-2000s) - endowment funds, exhibitions, gift campaigns, events and gatherings, collection materials. Box 6 (ca. 1970s-2000s) - gatherings and events, associate annual dinners, board of directors, stewardship letters, funding solicitations, and University Associates correspondence organized alphabetically, A-R.
