This collection contains two VHS tapes titled "Anne Spencer: Echoes from the Garden" and a segment from "Garden story with Rebecca Frischkorn" titled "Anne Spencer Garden." Anne Spencer (1882-1975) was a Harlem Renaissance poet and activist. She was born on a Virginian farm and lived in Virginia her entire life. She cultivated a garden that inspired many artists of the era. The documentaries focus on the impact and importance of Spencer's garden to herself, her community, and other artists and writers. Folder ViU2022-0091_001 contains Anne Spencer: Echoes from the Garden Folder ViU2022-0091_002 contains Garden Story "Anne Spencer Garden"
