Scope and Contents
This addition to the COSAR files consist of 9 archival boxes (2.5 cubic ft.). It contains the working files of Betty Ardus and Ann Washauer, members of the Virginia State Crime Commission Advisory Task Force to Study Sexual Assault.
The files point out the grassroot work that was done in Virginia beginning with the foundation of the Alexandria Rape Victim Companion Program within the Commission for Women in 1974, the Tidewater Rape Information Service, ROAR (Richmond Organized Against Rape) and other local organizations.
