The Cleanliness Institute was founded in 1927 by the Association of American Soap and Glycerine Producers. By advocating healthy habits and the need for cleanliness, they were also able to promote soap consumption to the American public. To further its mission, the Cleanliness Institute produced educational materials including posters, storybooks, and slide presentations.
