Sarah E. Jackson letters, MSS 16211, dated 1877, 1895, 0.03 cubic feet, from her son and his cousin who were students at the University of Virginia. They mention "the Lawn", Monticello, the Medical School, and the "Chemical laboratory which is just about completed." There is also a letter from a cousin of General Stonewall Jackson, P. Lafford, and a University of Virginia class photograph taken in front of what is now Alderman Library. (1877)

It contains thirty-eight pages of manuscript and one watercolor of flowers. Included are original and copied verse by a series of friends, many with several entries.

The Nunnally Johnson collection of Nathalia Crane papers (1923-1926; 0.03 cubic feet) collection contains correspondence of Nunnally Johnson relating to Nathalia Crane, a child author whose authenticity was questioned. There are 14 letters from Nathalia Crane to Nunnally Johnson; 1 letter from HM Crist to Johnson, and 1 letter from Clarence Crane. Also included is a typescript poem "The First Writer," two photographs of Crane, and one graphite self-portrait by Crane.

She also mentions that two of her father's (the Reverend Samuel Kennerly) slaves were sent to Richmond to work on earthen defenses.
