The Nunnally Johnson collection of Nathalia Crane papers (1923-1926; 0.03 cubic feet) collection contains correspondence of Nunnally Johnson relating to Nathalia Crane, a child author whose authenticity was questioned. There are 14 letters from Nathalia Crane to Nunnally Johnson; 1 letter from HM Crist to Johnson, and 1 letter from Clarence Crane. Also included is a typescript poem "The First Writer," two photographs of Crane, and one graphite self-portrait by Crane.

Susan Arabella Kennerly Johnson letter to her aunt, .03 cubic feet, 1863, about a raid by the 1st Virginia Cavalry, Company E, in which two of her brothers, John Thomas Kennerly (1837-1882) and James William (Willie) Kennerly (1843-?) participated with Fitzhugh Lee. She also mentions that two of her father's (the Reverend Samuel Kennerly) slaves were sent to Richmond to work on earthen defenses.

This collection consists of one volume. An elaborate sketched title "Mary C. Jones Album," is the first page used; 79 pages used for hand-written inscriptions, verse, and literature, including some calligraphy. Signatures from Providence, "Washington Ball," and New York. The inscriptions are mostly addressed to "Caroline." Marbled paper over boards with red leather spine and red leather board edges; red leather label with gilt stamped name "Mary C.
