Scope and Contents

This collection consists of the Virginia Law Weekly's organizational records including founding documents, correspondence, and digital media. It also contains photographic prints, negatives, and contact sheets used in the production of the Virginia Law Weekly.

The University of Virginia Law Library made digital copies of many of the photographic items in this collection.

These records comprise academic procedures, policies, standards, calendars, curriculum, faculty rules and policies, faculty meeting minutes (1986-1989), and other administrative files. Also included are informational packages given to accepted students.

The records of the Student Legal Forum are comprised of general files, correspondence, photos, newspaper clippings, card file of speakers, tapes, and miscellaneous materials.

Of note is a scrapbook of clippings begun when Robert Kennedy was president of the Student Legal Forum.

The records of the Virginia Tax Review consist of administrative files related to the publication of the journal. The archives retained contracts with the authors, two files of correspondence with Mortimer M. Caplin, an SBA file with a handbook and guidelines, and the course syllabus for the Alternative Dispute Resolution class taught by William L. Waddell.

Orders of contract proof, distribution and offprint orders were recycled after keeping a few samples.

Scope and Contents The office files of the Virginia Law Review were routinely transferred to the archives between 1978 and 1985. The records consist primarily of administrative correspondence and other materials from the office of the editor-in-chief, and correspondence with writers of articles. This collection consists of materials that document the work of the State and Local Government Policy Clinic at the University of Virginia School of Law. These materials include websites and publications. The collection also contains items documenting the clinic's participation in major projects including the Commission to Examine Racial and Economic Inequality in Virginia Law (2019-2022).
