James Madison Spiller letter to Dr. I. L. Twyman, 1853, 0.03 cubic feet,consists of a signed letter on a single sheet of blue paper, hand written in ink in regard to the negotiation of a sale of two Negro "family girls." The girls were being sold by Dr. Twyman and S[piller was helping to facilitate the sale to Seth Woodruff. Current market price for a girl are mentioned, as well as the effects of war in Europe on other market prices.

Florence T. Rickert Leaves of friendship book, 1860's, 0.03 cubic feet,in original red boards with blind tooling, all edges gilt. Title in ornate gilt round design on front cover and elaborate design on the spine. The first entry is written by her father, the second by her grandfather and there are several illustrations throughout. Signed by family and friends.

Martha J. Applegate leaves of friendship book,1850's, 0.03 cubic feet, in original brown boards with blind stamped decoration, all edges gilt and title is on a round blue background with gilt border. Elaborate gilt spine. It is signed at the front, "Miss Mattie Applegate"

Sarah Jane Robertson album, 1830's, Augusta County, Virginia 0.03 cubic feet,in original black boards with floral decorative rule, green endsheets, and lithographs. Several newspaper clippings and cut dried flowers are laid in.

Kittie R. Schatz friendship album, 1880's, 0.03 cubic feet, is in original green boards, with gilt rule and title, all edges gilt, and blue silk endsheets. There are many choromolithographs affixed to the pages and most entries signed with "Mass." as the location.

Mary M. Russell Ladies friendship album, [1850], Rockville, Maryland,0.03 cubic feet, in original red boards, gilt fauna design on front, and all edges gilt. Included are several engravings.

Emma R. Dunlap landscape album, [1860], 0.03 cubic feet, Pennsylvania, in original brown boards, highly embossed, with gilt title within round decorative border, and signed by several friends and relatives.

Alice M. Dunlap friendship album, 1840's, 0.03 cubic feet, with sentiments, poems, and engravings from friends and relatives
