Rose Leaves manuscript magazine
Content Description
Handmade manuscript album done in the style of a magazine. The album has 60 pages, all of which consist of hand drawn pen and ink and manuscript text, with the exception of 14 pages of pasted in printed illustrations (some in color) of coats of arms that correspond to a "Letter to the Editoress" on heraldry. With the exception of one excerpt from "The ethics of dust," by John Ruskin, all the articles appear to be original stories and poems. While the 'authors' for each story and/or article are named, it is unclear if these are fictitious names or real individuals who helped Julia Hooper in the composition of the album.
